About PDF to Markdown

PDF to Markdown extracts the text of a PDF as clean, structured Markdown. Headings are detected, lists keep their bullets and numbers, bold, italics and links are marked up, and aligned columns become tables. Running headers and footers are left out, and multi-column pages are read one column after the other.

Why your files stay private

Converting documents for AI tools shouldn't mean giving them to another service first. The extraction runs in your browser, so you decide what, if anything, you paste anywhere else. Nothing is stored or logged by Nopload.

PDF to Markdown: common questions

Why use Markdown instead of plain text?
Markdown keeps the structure, such as headings, lists and tables, in simple text. Notes apps, documentation tools and AI assistants understand it, and it's easy to read as it is.
Are images included?
No, the output is text only. Use PDF to images to save the pictures from the same PDF.
Why is my Markdown empty?
The PDF probably contains scanned pages, which are pictures of text. Run OCR PDF first, then convert the searchable result.
Is it good for feeding documents to AI?
Yes. Markdown is compact and keeps headings, lists and tables, so a model can follow the document's structure instead of guessing it from a wall of text.
How are tables written?
Runs of three or more lines with three or more aligned cells become Markdown tables, so they display as tables in most Markdown viewers.
