Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes. Every tool is free, and there are no paid plans.
Do I need an account?
No. Every tool works without one, and the workflows you save stay in your browser.
Why is my compressed file not smaller?
Compression mostly shrinks images. Text-only PDFs are already compact, so we keep your original when we can't make it smaller.
Can you open a PDF if I forgot the password?
No. Unlock PDF removes a password you know. We don't break passwords.
Why does a page look different after redaction?
Pages with redactions are rebuilt as images so nothing hidden survives. The text outside the redacted areas stays searchable.
Which browsers work?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile.
How large can files be?
There is no size or file-count cap for tools that run on your device, and your 1st file works the same as your 100th. Very large jobs are limited only by your device's memory.
