About Add page numbers
Add page numbers stamps numbers onto the pages of a PDF, so printed copies stay in order and people can refer to “page 7” in a meeting. Choose where they go, how they read, which pages get them and what number to start from, with mirrored positions for documents printed double-sided and bound like a book.
Why your files stay private
The numbers are drawn onto the pages by code in your browser, and the numbered PDF is saved straight to your device. The document isn't uploaded, so manuscripts and reports stay yours.
Add page numbers: common questions
- Can I leave the cover page unnumbered?
- Yes. Turn on “Skip the first page”, or list exactly the pages to number, such as 3-20, and set the first number you want them to show.
- What does “Mirror for facing pages” do?
- For a document printed on both sides, numbers on left-hand pages move to the opposite side, so they always sit on the outer edge of the spread.
- Do numbers work in other alphabets?
- Yes. Words like “Page” follow the language you are using Nopload in, and fonts for non-Latin scripts are embedded so the labels display correctly.
- Can I number several PDFs at once?
- Yes. Add several files and each is numbered on its own with the same settings. To number them as one continuous document, merge them first.
- Can I change the size and colour of the numbers?
- Yes. Set the text size and pick any colour, so the numbers can stand out or blend in with the page design.
