How to use Repair PDF

  1. 01Add the damaged PDF, or several. Each is repaired separately.
  2. 02Press Repair PDF. Nopload tries a structural rebuild first, then a more forgiving reading of the file.
  3. 03Download the repaired copy. A message tells you if pages had to be rebuilt as images, in which case OCR PDF can make the text searchable again.

About Repair PDF

Repair PDF fixes files that a reader refuses to open, opens with errors, or shows with missing pages, which often happens after an interrupted download or a faulty export. It first rebuilds the file's internal index and structure so the original text and images are kept. If that's not enough, it recovers every page it can still read.

Why your files stay private

Damaged files often hold exactly the documents people can't afford to lose. Repair runs with a PDF engine compiled to WebAssembly inside your browser, so the broken file and the repaired copy stay on your device and are never uploaded for analysis.

Repair PDF: common questions

Can every PDF be repaired?
No. If the file is truncated to almost nothing, or isn't a PDF at all, there is nothing left to recover. In that case you'll see a clear message rather than an empty file.
Why are some pages images after repair?
When the structure is too broken to rebuild, the pages a reader can still display are drawn and saved as pictures. They look right but their text isn't selectable until you run OCR PDF.
Can it remove a password?
No. Repair fixes damage, not protection. For a file whose password you know, use Unlock PDF.
Does repairing change a healthy PDF?
A healthy file comes back with the same pages and content, rewritten with a tidier internal structure. It's safe to try when you're unsure whether a file is damaged.
Can I repair several files at once?
Yes. Add several PDFs and each is repaired on its own. Download them one by one, or together as a ZIP.
