Will it remove a page that only has a page number?

Yes. The margins are left out of the check, so a page whose only mark is a number or a header in the margin counts as blank. A page with even one short line in the body is kept.

Which sensitivity should I use?

Normal suits clean scans and digital files. Use lenient for old or grey paper, or when the text on the other side shows through faintly. Use strict when every mark matters and only truly empty pages should go.

Can I see which pages were removed?

The result tells you how many went. To pick pages yourself instead, use Remove pages, which shows every page as a thumbnail. If a page you need was taken out, run the tool again on the original with a stricter setting.

What if every page looks blank?

You get a message instead of an empty file. That usually means the scan is very faint; try the strict setting, or check the scanner’s settings.

Are bookmarks and links kept?

Yes. The remaining pages keep their links, comments, form fields and bookmarks; bookmarks that pointed at a removed page are dropped.

About Remove blank pages

Remove blank pages looks at every page of a PDF and deletes the ones with no real content. It is made for scans: a stack of single-sided letters run through a duplex scanner comes out with a blank back after every page, and Remove blank pages takes them out in one go. It also tidies exports that leave empty pages between sections. Each page is drawn at low resolution and the share of dark pixels is measured, leaving out the margins where scanner edges, punch holes and page numbers sit. The sensitivity setting decides how much speckle or bleed-through still counts as blank.

Why your files stay private

Scanned stacks are usually personal: letters, bank statements, medical forms. Pages are drawn and checked in your browser and the cleaned PDF is saved to your device. The scan is never uploaded.
