About Compare PDF

Compare PDF shows exactly what changed between two versions of a document, such as a contract before and after the other side's edits. Text changes are listed with additions and removals highlighted, a visual overlay shows differences in layout and images, and a side-by-side view lets you read both versions together. Pages are matched by content, so an inserted page doesn't throw everything off. It's useful for checking a revised quote, a new version of terms and conditions or a document that came back from proofreading.

Why your files stay private

Comparing drafts usually happens during negotiations, when documents are most confidential. Both files are read and compared inside your browser and are never uploaded. Nothing about the comparison is stored by Nopload afterwards.

Compare PDF: common questions

How are pages matched?
Pages are paired by their wording, not just their number, so when a page is inserted or deleted, the pages after it still line up with their counterparts.
Can I compare scanned PDFs?
Scans have no text to compare, so use the visual overlay, or run OCR PDF on both files first to compare their text.
What do the colours mean in the overlay?
The original is drawn in red and the revised version in blue. Anything the two share shows in dark grey, so changes stand out in colour.
Can I compare a Word document with a PDF?
Convert the Word file with Word to PDF first, then compare the two PDFs.
Are formatting changes detected?
The text view compares words, so it shows changes in wording. Changes to layout, pictures or styling show up in the visual overlay instead.
